Window Cleaning Southwark

Cleaner wiping an exterior sash-window sill

An upstairs window needs its position and surroundings explained before outside work is agreed. Tell us the floor, glass faces and what lies below your Southwark windows. We can discuss feasibility and the quotation without assuming every higher pane has a suitable route.

  • Inside and outside choices clear
  • Feasibility discussed first

Describe the floor and the space below.

Give the floor level of each requested window and say what is beneath it, such as a path, garden or structure on your property. Mention any obstruction affecting that position. A window count alone does not explain outside access, and a view from the room may not show the approach. Supply safely available photographs and a description rather than leaning out or climbing to obtain a clearer image.

Higher-floor work is discussed by the service, but your particular window still needs its access considered. There is no maximum storey or measured reach to guess from a general description. Do not assume roof access, high-rise work, ropes or a specific equipment method. Tell us what is requested and ask about feasibility before treating the exterior faces as part of a confirmed booking.

Explain how the property can be approached.

Name the requested outside faces and the route from the entrance, including gates, shared space and permission needed. A ground-level route to the building does not settle the whole upper-window request. Explain restrictions without expecting the cleaner to discover them on arrival. If one outside face cannot yet be confirmed, keep that question explicit instead of using a general all-windows phrase to include it automatically.

Cleaner using a handheld squeegee on interior kitchen glass

Choose room-side glass independently.

Identify the rooms and panes wanted for interior cleaning, with approximate sizes and obstructions described. Furniture, blinds or shutters may restrict the lower glass even when the window is easy to see. Discuss moving arrangements first. Removing curtains or blinds can improve access, but it is not compulsory dismantling or an automatic refitting service. An interior request does not itself supply a route to exterior higher-floor faces.

Say how each window opens now.

Describe sash, tilt-and-turn or bay arrangements and include fixed sections within modern double-glazed frames. Give relevant care guidance, films or coatings. Mention a window that sticks or a faulty handle, leaving it in place. Do not force an opening to make the outside look reachable. Cleaning is separate from mechanism repair, replacement glazing or restoration, and an opening window does not establish access to all neighbouring fixed panes.

Agree work after the access questions are discussed.

We offer interior and exterior glass cleaning. Provide the pane list, sides and practical route details so the proposed appointment can be discussed. Identify existing damage and difficult deposits before the visit. Ask about products, equipment, utilities and working arrangements for the particular booking rather than specifying a method yourself. The agreed work should reflect the faces and access confirmed, not a blanket promise for every window at the address.

Prepare the agreed routes, not an improvised reach.

Share the booked faces and restrictions with the receiving person. Clear small personal objects from the working area once arrangements are agreed and flag fragile items. Discuss pets, other contractors and rooms that cannot be entered. Leave fitted window parts assembled and avoid climbing onto furniture or extending yourself outside. If access changes after the enquiry, tell the booking contact so the plan can be updated before arrival.

Check how outside conditions affect the booking.

Ask what happens if conditions are unsuitable for the agreed exterior work and confirm the contact. Floor level alone does not create a fixed weather policy. Do not assume an automatic rain cancellation, refund or free return. Interior-only and combined work may need different practical plans, which should be discussed before choosing a date and making other arrangements around it.

Confirm the quotation with access included in the description.

Window cleaning starting prices
Property / requested workFrom
Flat£33
Maisonette£48
House£33
Detached property£46
Conservatory£50

A minimum charge of £42 applies. These are starting figures; ask for the total for your windows, requested sides and access.

The property figures are starting prices, with a published £42 minimum Window Cleaning charge. A lower category figure is not a payable standalone minimum. Give the Southwark address, floors, pane sizes, faces and routes for the full quote, including frames or sills if requested. Area and availability affect prices, and applicable congestion charges are additional. Confirm the proposed work and complete amount rather than calculating an upper-floor supplement yourself.

Send the Southwark postcode with the position details.

Give preferred dates and the receiving contact alongside photographs and the floor description. Explain shared entrances or any permission needed. We can discuss availability for the property and a complete quote. Repeat Window Cleaning can also be discussed, with the requested faces and routes confirmed rather than a fixed interval or contract assumed.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Southwark questions about higher windows

Is the floor number enough for an exterior enquiry?

Include the window position, approach route and obstructions beneath it. The floor alone does not explain how the requested face can be reached.

Can I assume a maximum cleaning height?

Describe the particular window and ask about feasibility. Do not invent a reach or storey limit from the general service description.

Should I lean out for a photograph?

Use safely available views and add a description. Take pictures from ground level and explain anything they cannot show, without climbing or leaning outside.

Does interior cleaning include outside higher panes?

Choose the sides independently and discuss exterior feasibility. A room-side booking does not automatically provide an outside route.

Will roof access be used for a difficult pane?

Do not assume that method. Describe the position and ask about the work that can be offered before confirming the booking.

Can a higher exterior sill be requested?

Name the sill and side and ask about inclusion and access. It should not be left implicit in a general glass request.

Describe the window position before assuming access.

Call with the Southwark floor, glass faces and surroundings beneath the requested panes. We can discuss feasibility, practical arrangements and the complete quotation for the work described.
