Window Cleaning Wimbledon

Cleaner wiping the interior glass of a ground-floor window

A window can have fixed glass beside an opening section. Include both in your Wimbledon enquiry, with the sides you want cleaned. We can discuss the full window list and access before preparing the price.

  • Fixed and opening panes counted
  • Requested sides listed together
  • Access discussed before the visit

Count the glass, not just the handles.

Give the number of windows and describe their separate sections. A single opening handle does not mean there is only one pane. Fixed glass beside or above the opening can also need cleaning. For a bay, show the whole arrangement and count its sides. Approximate dimensions help distinguish a small window from a broad glazed section without expecting you to measure every edge precisely.

Explain whether the windows are sash, tilt-and-turn or another design, and whether they open normally. Include glazed doors if you would like them considered. Mention any film or care instructions you know about. Leave faulty fittings in place; opening or fixed sections should not become a reason to force a handle or take components apart.

Choose which room-side faces need work.

For an inside visit, name the rooms and identify the glass you want included. Cooking deposits on a kitchen pane and marks near a frequently used door are useful condition details. Tell us about furniture, curtains, shutters or blinds that restrict space. Room-side access needs discussing even when the outer glass is the main reason for calling.

Confirm room entry and the person who can provide it. Requesting both faces needs both routes agreed; exterior access alone does not cover the inside glass.

Identify the mark before adding it to the job.

Describe where a deposit appears and when you first noticed it. A close photograph helps, but include the whole pane so its position is clear. Tell us about products or scraping already tried. Paint, adhesive or building deposits need discussing separately from ordinary dirt. Cleaning does not repair a scratched pane or a damaged finish.

If a mark appears enclosed between glazing layers, say so. It may not be on a reachable surface. Ask about the actual concern rather than treating all visible cloudiness as removable dirt. Frame, sill and seal concerns belong in the enquiry too, with their inclusion confirmed in the quote rather than assumed from the word windows.

Agree a practical list for the appointment.

We can discuss interior and exterior window cleaning using the list you provide. The requested sides, dimensions, condition and access all help define the visit. Include the floor and any obstructions in the same enquiry. The cleaner needs an agreed route to the glass; the property type by itself does not establish how every pane can be reached.

Ask about equipment, supplies and utilities for your booking. Leave fitted parts intact. Update the contact if access changes so the cleaner has the current window list and route.

Show what lies outside the fixed panes.

Explain whether the glass faces a garden, passage, shared courtyard or public frontage. Mention locked gates, extensions and permission to enter shared areas. Include upper-floor panes with the floor level and what is below them. Access must be assessed for the actual job; a fixed section is not automatically reachable because another pane nearby opens.

Ask separately about specialist access or repair work. A residential booking does not establish roof entry, rope work or high-rise cleaning. Provide ground-level photographs without climbing or leaning outside.

Clear the agreed route and check the timing.

Once the visit is agreed, move small items from the working area and point out fragile objects nearby. Mention pets, other contractors and entry restrictions when arranging the time. Do not dismantle shutters or move heavy furniture before checking what is needed. Ask about the plan if weather affects exterior work, including who will contact whom; there is no fixed rain rule to assume.

For one-off or repeat visits, confirm the glass and faces included. Ask about the available arrangement, checking exterior access separately from room entry.

Request a total for all the panes on your list.

Window cleaning starting prices
Property / requested workFrom
Flat£33
Maisonette£48
House£33
Detached property£46
Conservatory£50

A minimum charge of £42 applies. These are starting figures; ask for the total for your windows, requested sides and access.

Starting prices depend on the property category, and the published minimum applies even if a starting figure is lower. Ask for the full charge for the sizes, sides and access you have described. If you want frames, sills or separate glazed doors included, name them in the same enquiry. Confirm the price for your address and any applicable congestion charges before booking.

Discuss household cleaning as a separate scope.

If rooms around the windows also need attention, ask about a one-off clean for the home. For ongoing household tasks, regular domestic visits can be discussed separately from repeat window work. Before a property handover, explain the glass request within your move-out cleaning enquiry. Confirm the sides and exterior access rather than assuming a wider service covers them automatically.

Use the address where the windows are located.

Send the Wimbledon postcode, floor and entrance arrangements with the list. We can discuss available appointments for that address and the requested work. If you are arranging cleaning for somebody else, include the contact who can answer access questions. Nearby area pages below can help with another property, but its own windows and access still need describing.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Questions about fixed glass and the requested sides

Is a fixed pane left out because it does not open?

Include it in your list and describe its position and access. Fixed glass can be part of a request, but reachability still needs checking.

Should I list glazed doors with the windows?

Yes, if you want them considered. Give the size and requested faces so those sections are included in the discussion rather than added unexpectedly.

Can a mark between double-glazed panes be treated as surface dirt?

Explain that it appears enclosed. A surface-cleaning appointment does not establish access between panes or include glazing repairs.

Does opening the window prove the outside can be cleaned?

No. Explain the floor, opening arrangement and outside obstructions. Do not lean out or force a fitting to check the access yourself.

Can a repeat visit cover different sides from the first booking?

Discuss the new request before that visit. Confirm the price and access again if you want to change the glass or faces included.

What should a quote for several panes make clear?

Ask for the requested sides, extra surfaces, access arrangements and complete charge, with the published minimum and any applicable extras accounted for.

Have you included the fixed panes?

Send the window list for your Wimbledon address. We can discuss the opening and fixed glass, access and the full price together.
